The Staples to Naples Rally 2009. The Original Banger Rally. A car on a 'N' Reg plate or older, costing £150.00 or less, driven from Staples Corner in London, across France, over the Swiss Alps and down to Naples in Italy . Well... not exactly.
Driven, in fact, from Calais to Rome, but over the Swiss Alps nevertheless. Registration is in Calais on Thursday September 17th sometime before 23h00. Of the 87 teams in the rally our crew have 5. We will hopefully all arrive in Rome on Monday 21st.
For us the question of where to find a banger that meets the requirements is easy: We're going to nick Robbit's missus' motor over the August bank holiday weekend (which makes it free) and drive it up to Tez 'The Fat Knight' MOTman's garage for a quick spray job, a dodgy MOT and some stickers... Wha-hey, before Zan can say "what the fuck have you done to my car you bastards!" "Never Mind the Bollards" will be ready to rock and the kids will be taking the bus to school.
